This position offers a highly rewarding mix of elective and acute anaesthesia, perioperative medicine, and critical care. You will provide specialist anaesthetic services across a broad surgical caseload while also contributing to the management of critically unwell patients within the ICU.

The role includes participation in a daytime ICU roster and a 1:7 after-hours on-call rota, giving you the opportunity to maintain a varied and stimulating scope of practice. You will work closely with surgeons, physicians, nursing staff, and allied health professionals in a collegial and well-supported setting.

The hospital’s intensive care service is continuing to grow and develop, creating an excellent opportunity for consultants who would like to contribute to service improvement, clinical leadership, and future planning.

This respected secondary hospital provides comprehensive care to a large regional population and supports a wide range of specialties including General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Paediatrics, ENT, Urology, Ophthalmology, and Emergency Medicine. Visiting subspecialist surgical teams also enhance the diversity of the anaesthetic workload.
