GP Job Melbourne – The Practice
Ref:430
A large, well-established medical practice in Melbourne’s western growth corridor is looking for a GP to join its experienced and collaborative team.
Located approximately 35 kilometres from central Melbourne, the practice offers the convenience of metropolitan living alongside more space, affordable housing and a relaxed, family-friendly lifestyle.
This is a DPA position offering 65% of billings, flexible working arrangements and up to $20,000 in relocation assistance.
The practice serves a broad and rapidly growing community, providing incoming GPs with access to a reliable patient base and a steady flow of appointments.
You will work alongside experienced GPs, practice nurses, allied health professionals and an efficient administrative team. This established support structure allows doctors to concentrate on clinical care while benefiting from well-managed day-to-day operations.
Contracts are based on 38 hours per week, which can be arranged across the practice’s seven-day opening schedule. This gives GPs flexibility to choose working patterns that suit their professional and personal commitments.
The Location
The practice is located in Melbourne’s western growth corridor, approximately 35 kilometres from the city centre.
The area offers an attractive balance between metropolitan convenience and suburban space. Residents have access to shopping centres, schools, parks, medical services and leisure facilities, while central Melbourne remains accessible by road and public transport.
Housing is generally more affordable than in Melbourne’s inner suburbs, with a choice of established family homes, newer developments and larger properties. This can make the area particularly appealing to GPs relocating with their families or looking for more space within easy reach of the city.
The local community is diverse and welcoming, with sporting clubs, cultural associations, markets and community events offering plenty of opportunities to meet people and settle into the area.
Local parks, walking and cycling trails, gardens and recreational facilities support an active outdoor lifestyle. Larger national parks and nature reserves are also within comfortable driving distance for hiking, wildlife watching and weekend trips.
Direct access to the Western Freeway provides a straightforward route into Melbourne, while V/Line train services connect the area with Southern Cross Station.
For GPs moving from the UK, the area offers a relaxed pace of life, relatively mild winters and plenty of sunshine throughout the year.
