GP Job in Adelaide Northern Suburbs – The Practice
Ref: 330
We are looking for a General Practitioner to join an established, AGPAL-accredited clinic in the Adelaide region. With a supportive team environment and a strong patient base, this is an excellent opportunity for a GP seeking flexibility, stability, and professional growth.
The clinic is home to 8–10 GPs, supported by 4 experienced nurses, 8 reception staff, and a dedicated practice manager. Their patients come predominantly from low to mid-socioeconomic backgrounds, and the practice operates 7 days a week, including most public holidays (8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with occasional extended hours).
They offer mixed billing, with a $25 gap on standard consultations and $30 on weekends. Around 70% of patients are bulk billed, including children under 16, pension card holders, and seniors over 65.
Doctors enjoy flexibility in how they structure their day and workload:
- Doctors are free to pace their day, typically seeing between 4 to 6 patients per hour depending on comfort and experience
- 70% of billings or an initial guaranteed rate for the first three months
- Average full-time GP billings (before percentage) are approximately $500,000 per year
- High-performing GPs can earn up to $800,000 annually
The clinic offers onsite allied health services including physiotherapy, podiatry, counselling, and access to visiting specialists such as an endocrinologist and gynaecologist.
The practice provides initial accommodation in a hotel and a hire car to help you settle in. While relocation assistance isn’t standard, they are open to negotiating support for the right candidate. The role requires a minimum of 38 hours per week, with flexibility to increase hours. A minimum contract of two years is expected.
