GP Job Hamilton – The Practice
This is a 6 doctor practice across 3 locations all close to each other in Hamilton. The team is looking for a long-term – permanent GP to join the existing team.
They are a happy, cohesive team of doctors where there is a focus on ensuring the working environment is well-run and supportive. There is a strong team of nurse prescribers, nurses, and administration staff supporting the doctors.
The practice is open Monday to Saturday looking after a multicultural mix of patients from young families to the elderly. It is a teaching practice with links to Auckland University. The Director of the practice teaches medical students, GP registrars, and nursing students.
The GP Job The position has a flexible start date where you can choose your working hours between 32 – 40 per week.
All GPs take a share in the Saturday roster which works out as 1:5 weekends. You will be based in one clinic in the group with support from the doctors across the group. You will see approx. 26 patients per day with 1 hour of paid paperwork time. You will have the facility to practice your areas of clinical interest if you wish. Any interests in minor surgery, aesthetics, and training are encouraged.

The city of Hamilton is located on the banks of the Waikato River, with many scenic riverside walks and cycleways. Hamilton is a city of almost 600,000 people with half of this population under the age of 30. It is also a very culturally diverse city, home to more than 80 ethnic groups.
Hamilton’s central precinct is easy and has many cafes, restaurants, a casino, and bars where you can wine, dine and dance the night away. The city is also well known as a destination for national and international events from sporting matches such as rugby, cricket, netball, rowing, and boxing to concerts and festivals.
Auckland is a 1.5-hour drive where there is an international airport with links within NZ and overseas.
