GP Job Wellington – The Practice

This large practice are looking for a dedicated GP to join this well managed and welcoming practice. Located an hour north of Wellington, this is a beautiful semi-rural area offering a wonderful lifestyle for GPs wishing to have a slower paced life in NZ. 

There are 22 GPs forming part of the team, working in their own group areas. GPs have interests such as lifestyle medicine, diabetes, respiratory and the elderly. The GP team are supported by a wide reaching nursing, allied and administration team forming over 100 staff in total. 

The GP Job

Working hours in the practice are flexible, with many doctors, there is scope to fit your hours round your lifestyle and you will be supported by the whole team to settle in. You will be offered a salaried position with excellent salary based on your experience, accommodation and car paid for 6 weeks with relocation assistance. The practice will also cover your annual practicing certificate and professional indemnity insurance. 

The Location

The practice is only an hour drive to Wellington or a scenic train ride. Driving ‘over the hill’ as the locals say is a stunning drive and takes you onto the freeway to Wellington making it commutable from the northern suburbs of Wellington.

Most staff members live in the region due to a lower cost of living and a wonderful semi-rural lifestyle. The area has excellent private and state schools, and many small towns with great restaurants and cafes. The area is a popular tourist destination due to its wineries and walking tracks. The weather has four seasons with warm and sunny summers and cooler winters.
