Consultant Radiologist Wellington – The Position

This is a brand new opportunity just released as the Radiology service is undergoing significant growth to meet rising demand and deliver on Health New Zealand’s national health targets. As part of this expansion, they have increased their Consultant/Senior Medical Officer  across the department and are now seeking additional Radiologists to support their enlarged service.

They have also grown their workforce of Registrars, Medical Imaging Technologists, and MRI Technologists,  strengthening their ability to deliver high quality, timely imaging and improve equity of access for our communities.

This is an opportunity to work in a service that is embracing the future of radiology where digital tools complement clinical expertise to deliver better outcomes for our patients.

Clinical responsibilities include:

  • Reporting and supervising imaging lists (e.g. CT, MRI, Ultrasound)
  • Participation in fluoroscopy procedures as appropriate to the specialty
  • Leading and contributing to clinical meetings/MDMs and liaising with referring clinicians
  • Teaching and supervision of radiology trainees (RANZCR years 1’5)
  • Participation in the diagnostic radiology on-call roster as appropriate

This is a close knit, multi-skilled team  located in  New Zealand’s most stunning regions.
