We are seeking Consultant Psychiatrists in Adult General Mental Health to join a leading public mental health service in Christchurch.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well-established, integrated service delivering high-quality mental health care across crisis, inpatient, and community settings. You will manage a diverse and engaging caseload, providing specialist assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adults with acute and complex mental health needs.

This role  involves providing comprehensive psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adult patients across crisis, inpatient, and community settings, managing complex cases and developing effective care plans. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will also offer clinical leadership, supervision, and mentoring, while contributing to service development, quality improvement, and ongoing professional development, supported by structured peer review and CPD opportunities.  The role offers the perfect balance of professional challenge, clinical leadership, and lifestyle, within a collaborative and forward-thinking multidisciplinary environment.

This large, integrated Adult General Mental Health Service supports a population of approximately 700,000 people. The service operates across inpatient units, crisis resolution teams, and community services, ensuring continuity of care and a strong focus on patient-centred outcomes.
