Consultant in Intensive Care Medicine (Intensivist) opportunity available in the Hawke’s Bay region of New Zealand for a UK-trained Intensive Care specialist seeking a rewarding clinical role and excellent work-life balance.
This permanent position (0.8–1.0 FTE) involves providing specialist care within a modern Level 2 Intensive Care and High Dependency Unit with 13 beds, managing a diverse case mix of adult and paediatric patients requiring advanced multi system life support, including non-invasive and mechanical ventilation, renal replacement therapy and invasive haemodynamic monitoring.
The ICU is supported by a collaborative multidisciplinary team of experienced Intensivists, fellows and registrars, with opportunities to contribute to teaching, trainee supervision, aeromedical retrieval, research and quality improvement initiatives.
Applicants should hold FICM or an equivalent qualification recognised for specialist registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand and demonstrate strong experience in intensive care procedures and supervision of junior medical staff.
