Clinical Haematologist – The Position

An exciting opportunity is available for a Clinical Haematologist to join a leading Regional Cancer Treatment Service on the North Island. This is a permanent, full-time position offering a strong outpatient focus within a collaborative and well-supported multidisciplinary environment.
You will be working as part of a wider regional network, supported by an experienced team of Haematologists and junior medical staff, delivering high-quality care across a diverse patient population.
This position offers a varied scope of practice, including:

Outpatient management of malignant and non-malignant haematology patients

Oversight of outpatient chemotherapy services

Participation in multidisciplinary team meetings and regional collaboration

Performing bone marrow biopsies and supporting procedural care

Delivering virtual clinics and outreach services across the region

Option to contribute to haematology laboratory services
There is a strong emphasis on collaboration, with regular MDTs and journal clubs conducted with regional colleagues via virtual platforms.
You will be working within a modern healthcare setting, including a newly developed, state-of-the-art cancer centre featuring contemporary consultation and treatment facilities, dedicated oncology and haematology nursing teams, access to radiation therapy and systemic treatment services, and a highly collaborative multidisciplinary team environment, all within a broader service that supports a large regional population and is actively involved in clinical research, education, and specialist training programmes.
