We’re looking for a Physician Associate in New Zealand. You will be based in a small, semi-rural practice based between Auckland and Hamilton. It is a 3 GP practice with Nurse Practitioner and Nurse Prescriber. They’re a close knit team with regular team meetings and peer review.

Accredited by the Royal College in NZ, they provide training for GP Registrars and have a focus on education. The Practice Manager is very proactive and innovative, there are nurse led clinics and lots of support available from the doctors and the wider team.

The local hospital is 40 minutes away and the urgent care centre is within 10 minutes drive. The patient mix is diverse from wealthy local farmers to a high needs population and a 26% Maori population. The practice is open Monday to Friday with no weekends or after hours.

The Physician Associate Job

Working as a Physician Associate in New Zealand, you will be supporting the GP workforce. You role will be similar to your position in general practice in the UK involving taking medical histories from patients, carrying out physical examinations and seeing acute and long term conditions.  You will work in a cohesive team with support from your GP Supervisor.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this position you must:

• Hold between 3 – 5 years experience as a PA
• Membership of the Faculty of Physician Associates
• Experience in general practice
