This is a salaried GP position offering a flexible number of sessions. A minimum number of hours to be worked is 30 to comply with visa regulations. You will work alongside 2 other GPs where you must be comfortable in your own abilities to treat and care for patients.
There is supervision available to meet Medical Council requirements and you will have plenty of support of a Regional and Practice Manager. Start for the position is flexible and dependant on when paperwork is complete. All GPs take a share in the after-hours roster in Tauranga which is shared among all practices and is not onerous.
The practice is located in a suburb of Tauranga, a beautiful city on the bay of plenty region of the North Island. It’s a coastal city with a population of 130,000 and a subtropical climate with warm summers and mild winters. No matter where you live, you get great views of either the harbour or the Kaimais.

Standard appointments are set at 12-15 minutes. The practice is open Monday to Friday 8am – 5pm and is closed on weekends and public holidays.
Tauranga has gorgeous parks and reserves – Tye Park has its harbour frontage, Waipuna Park its beautiful walnut trees, Johnson Reserve its meandering bush walks and mini waterfall.
There is also a buzzing waterfront area which is modern and home to a number of cafés, restaurants, pubs and nightclubs. Across the road on the water’s edge, children are easily entertained at the local playground
Tauranga’s harbour is in evidence almost everywhere you go, providing the urban area with an attractive waterfront setting. Fishing, sailing, diving and dolphin tours are easy to arrange or check out one of the local beauty spots – McLaren Falls or the Kaimi Mamaku Forest Park.
