GP Job Taranaki Region – The Practice
This is a lovely, well established 2 GP practice based in Taranaki on the North Island of New Zealand. It is a really friendly practice with an experienced team. The practice provides high quality health care services to the Taranaki community.
The practice is open Monday to Friday only and offers a range of services such as minor surgery, immunisations, ECG, spirometry and pathology alongside standard GP services.
The working day is split into two sessions with standard appointments of 20 minutes, seeing 18 patients per day. This allows you to have plenty of time with each patient with plenty of support from the rest of the team. You will be offered a great salary with paid leave and 12 days public holiday. You will be offered relocation assistance with your professional indemnity and registration costs paid.
You will see a range of patients with no acute work, the closest hospital is 2km away and the base hospital is in New Plymouth. The practice is looking for a good all round GP who can fit well into the team.
The Location
The practice is based in a coastal town on the West coast of the North Island. It is the second largest centre after New Plymouth in Taranaki with a population of 11,000. It is a 30 minute drive to Mt Taranaki which offers hiking and cycling routes and is on the Surf Highway renowned for numerous surfing beaches.
The town has lots of green space and parks for the kids. There are beautiful coastal walks, surfing and cafes. When the surf is too much, there is a fabulous aquatic centre and the town has lots of great cafes and restaurants.
