GP Job Gippsland Region- The Practice

Well established clinic based in Gippsland 1.5 hours east of Melbourne.  Situated in is the largest town in the area with excellent state and independent schools, a major shopping hub and sport and performing arts centres.

This is a 10 GP teaching practice with 2 Practice Principals, one of whom is from the UK. The GPs are supported by 9 nursing staff, highly skilled with experience in chronic disease management. There is a strong reception team who have worked in the practice for over 10 years.

The practice is a progressive, mixed billing practice with a focus on high quality patient care. Opening hours are Monday – Friday 8.30am – 6pm with short Sat and Sun morning clinics.

There is a fully equipped treatment room with opportunity to practise minor surgery and there is lots of industry in the area so occupational health and medicals are in demand. The practice also looks after 2 local nursing homes.

There is an element of on-call which is not onerous and works out as 1:5 weekends.

The Location

Situated in a pretty town with wide tree-lined streets and spacious parklands offering excellent schooling with a choice of state and independent schools, a Grammar school and University 20 minute away.

Cafés, restaurants and shopping mark the commercial centre of the town which also has a great sporting facilities and Performing Arts centre.

You are a short drive from fantastic wineries and national parks. The most southern point of Victoria’s beautiful Wilsons’s Promontory National Park is within driving distance for a weekend day trip or camping weekend.

Melbourne is only a 1.5 hour drive along the highway which is easily done for weekend trips to the state capital.
