This GP job in Auckland is available at this GP and urgent care centre, close to the city centre. It is ideally suited to a GP with an interest in women’s health and interest in minor injuries an advantage. The practice can be busy so although standard consultations are booked in at 15 minute appointments, there can be urgent walk in cases slotted in between.
It is expected you will see 4-5 patients per hour during the week and 5-6 at the weekend. Most of the patient contacts are very short, such as wound checks, or well children with colds. Mornings tend to be busier, but there is plenty of quiet time during the day to check on patient test results or do referral letters and if required, time may be scheduled for this in the afternoons.
There is no requirement for doctors to be on-call after hours. House calls are only required on very rare occasions, usually for palliative care patients registered with the doctor, and excellent nursing support is provided by the local hospice.
You will have excellent nursing and clerical support and be part of a team of GPs with plenty of collegial support with peer review group meeting monthly.
The practice is based in an Auckland suburb which is only 20 minutes from from the city. Auckland is rated as the third most liveable city in the world and is a thriving multi-cultural hub of cuisine, music, art and culture.
Based around 2 large harbours, this is a large city on New Zealand’s north island. In the centre, the iconic Sky Tower has views of Viaduct Harbour, which is full of superyachts and lined with bars and cafes. Auckland Domain, the city’s oldest park, is based around an extinct volcano and home to the formal Wintergardens.
