Ref: 336

We are seeking Specialist Anaesthetists with a strong generalist skill set and an interest in anaesthesia and pain medicine to join our service in permanent or fixed-term positions.

Our anaesthetists support a wide range of surgical specialties across elective and acute services. While generalist practice is central to the role, the department is strengthened by consultants with subspecialty training and interests, which are actively supported and valued.

The Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine  serves a culturally diverse population of approximately 600,000 people across Auckland. They  are committed to equity, inclusion, and delivering outcomes that reflect the communities we serve.

The department also provides anaesthetic and sedation services in MRI, CT, interventional radiology, gastroenterology, respiratory procedural suites, and cardiac catheter laboratories.  This is  a friendly department with a culture of continuous improvement.  They have weekly morbidity and mortality meetings and have an active internal education program.  This is a training hospital, with 35 trainees,  SMOs actively participate in College roles, including supervisors of training, examiners, and ANZCA committees. You can look forward to a warm welcome and strong support from colleagues.

We welcome applications from overseas-trained Consultant Anaesthetists who are seeking long-term or fixed-term opportunities in New Zealand.
